Cost of college went up for all students at Casper College

In-state tuition and fees rose 1.6 percent for 2018-19 at Casper College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wyoming residents paid $3,072 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $48 more than the $3,024 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 146.9 percent more than residents this year, or $7,584. Their price tag grew 0.6 percent from $7,536 in 2017-18.

About 80 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Wyoming residents. About 17 percent are residents of other states and 3 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 456 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.1 million and 141 students took out student loans totaling more than $674,841.

Including all undergraduates (3,650), 1,983 students used grants or scholarships totaling $8.2 million, and 601 students took out $3.3 million in federal student loans.
